Re:The Water Boy Representing Ballinagh In Casement Park Sunday
Congrats on Sunday to the minor team and especially to our local "WATER BOY" Dara McCarthy who ran his heart out during the game by keeping the players constantly replenished with "QUALITY H2O"

Well done lads
I just wanted to say fair play and well done to you all on winning the Ulster title. Living in Limerick and working in Cork, as a Cavan man you can get a bit of stick for the lack of GAA success, but now I have an answer, it's all about winning club titles! Best of luck in the next round and I am sure you will bring more success to the town.

Congratulations to ALL involved in this monumentous achivement. You are all history makers, relish the moment. I was able to listen to most of the game on Northern Sound and it was incredible. Enjoy your success and stay focused. BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!

Handball
Lads, anyone considering going to the Ulster Handball Open in Kingscourt Feb 10-11?

How about it - come to watch two Cavan men compete against the world's top 16 on Saturday afternoon, then tip up to Navan (20/25 minutes) for the crunch clash with the Royals... There's seating for 1000 spectators by the way...

Now is the time if we have any interst in supporting handball in Cavan - the biggest tournament in the history of the sport, on a day when most of us will be travelling up that way anyway!

They seek him here, they seek him there, but where will they find him, the scarlet Guikenel? In front of a camera, that's where!! Michael Dunne should get an award for being in the most photos. (A little gold camer might be appropriate?) He's worse than Tony Blair, just point the camera anywhere within a two mile radius and all you get is a big "CHEEEEEESE". Weekend's results
Congrats on the two great wins at the weekend boys. Four semi-finals is a great achievement for a small club in its first year at the top grade.

But lets not lose focus and make sure we bring some silverware home from these.

Intermediate
We have reached the 1/4 finals while not playing particularly well, hopefully this is a sign that the lads are gonna peak at the right time this year and players like Declan Beard, Colin Gumley, Paul Galligan and Padraig Maguire will start to show their true abillities and help the younger members of the team. With these combinations intermediate success cant be far away.

Benefit Dance
The Crannog in Ballinagh will play host to a benefit dance on Friday night next. Proceeds will go towards the Anthony Duffy rehabilitation fund. Anthony was the victim of a savage attack in Cork at the weekend. Gardai in Angelsea Street, Cork are looking for a man described as 5 foot 3 inches in height, approx 7 stone, aged around 14 or 15. The vicious youth is said to have attacked Anthony when he entered a local bar in the city. Anthony is said to have resisted the attack bravely before being overpowered, we wish him well in his recovery....

Id move Gallo up front and the Durkster back to midfield to let Hero do all the tracking back and getting forward. Adrian Maguire has to be dropped, lack of fitness and speed is showing and if the management cant see this then there is no hope (Gaels, Gowna, Kingscourt, Castlerahan to name a few have all shown that he does not belong on the 40) Lets get the great league and move it into the Championship.

Safety Nets
The nets behind the goals look well. Thomas Gaynor can come out and watch games again now that he won't be hit by one of Duffy's dodgeballs. If he could be encouraged not to shoot it would save the club a fortune in lost footballs.

Who are the sinors? Are they a team from Spain? The minors played 30% of the seniors and won alright, but on a Sunday morning of a Paddys weekend that wouldn't exactly be difficult. Last year a team of geriatric granny's, 4 of which had rheumatoid arthritis and 2 of which were on zimmerframes ran the seniors to a draw the day after Paddys day....well done to the minors for going one better.....

Duffy in Dusguise???
I heard rumours the club are going to fit Duffy out in some type of "muscle suit" and try to pass him off as the injured McInerney for the U-21 final??? Don't think it will work lads, Mc's forays up the field have a good chance of ending in a score. Duffy hitting the roof of Breffni Stores would give the game away....

Championship Draw
Lads, by the time we have played all 3 of those teams in the Championship, don't be in any doubt that we'll have 3 tough, competitive games under our belts. This is a much tougher draw than last year. The objective is qualification, be that in 1st or 2nd position in the group; it's a realistic objective but not one that should be taken for granted. After that with luck, we can think about the knock-out stages. Hopefully, if we could get by the quarter final stage this year, we could be hard stopped... roll on footy season!!!

Championship draw
I would have preferred if we had have a got one of Drumalee or Ballyhaise (or another strong side) as I felt last year we got through our group without playing well and without playing a decent side and then when we met Drumalee we never got goin. Maybe playing one of the two would change this, a win giving inspiration or a draw giving a kick up the ass.

Chuck Norris
There is no chin behind Chuck Norris' beard. There is only
another fist. Chuck Norris invented Kentucky Fried Chicken's famous secret
recipe , with eleven herbs and spices. But nobody ever mentions the
twelfth ingredient: Fear Chuck Norris originally appeared in the "Street Fighter II"
video game, but was removed by Beta Testers because every button caused
him to do a roundhouse kick. When asked bout this "glitch," Norris
replied, "That's no glitch."

Dear Santa
Dear Santa,
I hope you are well. Thank you for the lovely presents you brought me last year. This year I would like 2 more tickets to Australia to visit my friend. Also could I please have some Piz-Buin multi-moisturising-shimmer-bronzer as I find the stuff you brought me last year leaves streaks on me calves and ruins my shorts when I'm playing football, especially in the winter. Also could I please have a copy of David Hasselhoff's greatest hits, he's cool. I met one of your elves in Dublin last week at a fancy dress party in a bar called "the George". Could you tell him I want my trousers back...

Lots of Love
Michael

Gyke and his fake tan
Lads, stop admiring gykes tan. On his first day at the beach in oz instead of applying tanning oil our gykie applied 'FAKE TAN'.He was pulled aside at customs on the way home as he was over his baggage limit and when they opened the bag it wasnt full of bottles of vodka for his friends but bottles of fake tan. Gyke was stocking up for his come back in the championship next year!!. But watch out for next sunday, he is more excited about wearing white shorts to show off his brown legs than winning the league final...Gallo try and keep him focused

Celebrity madness
Michael Dunne,

We regret to inform you that your application for "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" has not been unsuccesful for a third consecutive series. I would like to take this oppotunity to inform you for future reference that on your application do not enter that you are a "CLASS" footballer and that you are the "BEST" free taker in the history of a certain Ballinagh club, this does not attain celebrity status for us. Can you please stop sending applications now as the news series is drawing to a close for 'f' sake.

Yours truly

Judy

Unlawful Behavior
Word has it paul galligan is unavailable for the killenkere match. Apparently 3 youths gave him a right beating up round the church. paul wasnt much of a church goer so i wonder what he was doing up round der. the youths were described as being round 6 foot each, 1 was quite strong while the other 2 were of slight build and carried county bags and just took part in the name calling. paul said hes not pressing charges. they must of bribed him over an undisclosed fact.

Congrats on the new web site. Long may it prosper. Good luck to the team & its mentors. I always follow its fortunes with an interested eye. This year a slight bump in the road derailed them but I know they will be back better & stronger because of it.
Regards,
