Ballinagh Lose League Final

Ballinagh neighbours Lacken claim the Division Two League Title in a low-scoring affair in Cornafean, which sees the boys in gold go down by a single point.

Ballinagh 0:4
Lacken Celtic 0:5

The town team started well with scores from Kevin Galligan (2), and David Finnegan giving Ballinagh a three points to nil lead. Lacken came back and at half time the margin between the two was a single point (0:4 to 0:3) Ballinagh's other score coming from Paul Galligan.

Unfortunately Ballinagh never really got going in the second half and to make things worse midfielder Cian McDermott was sent off with second yellow card. Ballinagh failed to convert while Lacken pointed twice to take the lead. The saffrons introduced substitutes to turn the tide but to no avail as Lacken ran out champions.

The side will take consulation in that they had already achieved Division One status for next year and are now looking forward to next week's U21 semi-final against Drumalee.
